Pissed Off! Somebody scratched my baby!

I'm always careful parking my baby. If there is a space in the parking lot that's the farthest, my Cayenne will be parked there.

This past weekend, against my better judgement, I took my baby to a shopping mall to attend a birthday party. With a fall heatwave, the mall is unusually busy with people finding cheap place to cool off. So obviously the parking is packed. I had to settle with the first non-compact parking spot there is.

When I was washing my car the next day, I found this nasty scratch on the driver side door. Looks like somebody had their door against my car while getting in. This is the first and only scratch on my 6 months old Cayenne.

REALLY UPSET!

So I guess I have to finally give Dr. Colorchip a try. Anybody have good experience with those? Keeping my finger crossed.

Wow! I feel you man.
This is one of my worst fears. Ive learned to stay away from packed parking lots.
From the reflection it seems you have a black Cayenne, Colorchip works great in dark colored cars. Youll be fine.

Yeh, Welcome come to irvine! I picked up 2 door dings and I only had it for 2 weeks, places like diamond jamboree you pretty much take what you can get... That scratch looks really odd looking, maybe call up a paintless dent repair place, and seems like its just regular black rather than metallic black, so should be easier, good luck.

I feel your pain. So today as I'm walking to my Cayenne I see this old caddy's door wide open basically scrapping my cars door. The lady is in lala land getting fresh air and reading her magazine. "Oh sorry I didn't hit it hard" she says. Luckly for her insurance premium she was right!

That stinks! I had something similar happen to my Passat but it was just a really sharp dent in the beltline with no paint missing (fortunately). Being in the beltline though, I'm not sure mine can be popped out.

This is dark blue car so I am hoping Dr Colorchip will do its magic with it. I wish it was as easy as paintless dent removal, but the chip is down into the basecoat, with no obvious dent. So either Dr Colorchip or get the whole panel resprayed.

This was in Arcadia mall, remind me to never go there again. Diamond Jamboree...forget it, I'd never go there on the weekends, except when the GTR club meets on Sundays.

It is odd for a door ding especially being that deep a scratch with no dent and with that pattern. It first looked like a paint transfer that could be buffed out but with it going to the primer it looks like it was made with a key.

oh that really stinks! Some people just don't have any respect for other people's properties. But I guess I should be glad they didn't keyed it across in a long line. That would have been nasty.

Dr Colorchip kit on the way, hopefully it will take care of it.

You are very optimistic if you think that someone carelessly rubbed their door against yours. You clearly got keyed. Some d-bags can't stand other people driving better cars. I've been in that situation and it's not a joke.

Just out of curiosity, is this V6?

Yeah this is a V6. It's not like a Cayenne is a rare car amongst the sea of BMW and Mercedes in the same parking lot. Why they came after my car is beyond me.

Oh well what's done is done. Not going to have some a**hole ruin my mood.

Ya Steph, looks like a key and not a door dent....Arcadia has lots of asian drivers too :-)

Hmm...some 85 degrees bread sounds good now.

Dings happen. I used to get really upset when someone dinged my car. My solution was to make friends with the local mobile painless dent repair guy.
