The blacked out effect on the car is amazing. I suggest getting the roof rails in black which is a big help in the way the car looks. I hope you can get the tinted tail lights and tinted headlights for the same effect. Of course adding a light tint to the front passenger windows makes it even nicer.

Wow, that looks great. Thanks for the responses & for the photos. I don't know if I will get the headlights blacked out, but I definitely like the wheels and will get the 8SI, LED Tail lights tinted black.

Wonder if the CN5 has the wheel arch extensions painted in black?

Sounds great.
Speaking of the wheel arches, I wish I had followed Pepper09T's advice when I made my order by getting the "Wheel Arch Extensions in Exterior Color". I think that is code 6GH. I didn't understand what that was but it is a smooth finish on the wheels arches like the car itself. Without ordering that you get a different black finish wheel arch which is what you see on mine in this picture.
Someone might have a picture showing what I am describing.

That looks fantastic. I just came from my garage cleaning the wheels as usual. I also wish I had gone for the ceramic brakes but they are BIG bucks but no brake dust. I have to clean the wheels almost every time I drive the machine.
Big Easy- how are you doing with keeping them clean?

Rob, I cry each time I have to clean the damn rims, I brush and wipe and then it's dirty again the next day. So after being prodded repeatedly by Pepper and Rak, I've finally caved in, the PCCBs are going on tomorrow! Fortunately there are now no more additions to this truck and she is perfect.......

Cheers,

WOW- You were hammered in to submission by The RAK and Pepper, yes I understand. I have been thinking about getting ceramic pads and just changing them out. I did the same on my SL500 which had the same problem and the results were great just changing the pads.
How are you doing it? did you get the whole PCCB kit from Porsche?
And aren't you the proud owner of a CTTS? My God.......

Ordered the kit from my favorite supplier and the dealership is doing the install. You know Pepper kept on hinting that she wasn't a true TTS and Rak was boasting about those yellow calipers, I had no choice! So looking forward to seeing them in action.

Cheers,

Big Easy and Harlequin,

That "wheel arch in exterior color" does look nice. I like the matched look.

I take it that the CQ1 code doesn't come with painted wheel extensions, just bumper color black?

So we have to pay for yet another option, 6GH even though the 21" wheels gives you the wheel ext. already??

Doesnt seem like a good deal to pay an extra $1150 for that, as the 20" RS Spyder wider version wheels gives you the option of selecting the 6GH for the price difference between painted and unprinted extensions ($200 or so).

Unless I am missing something?

The CQ1 makes the arches a little wider but does not paint them and they look like what I sent in my pic.
Yes painting them is extra and I didn't understand all of that when I ordered mine but I can't say that Pepper09TT didn't tell me about it.

I can't comment on the 20" Spyder wheels since I don't know about those.

As others have said Porsche charges for every little extra.

By the way do you really need the extra thermal glass?

Rob.

I'm with Rob on the thermal glass option..Its no darker, supposedly thicker and less allows less noise?? I had my car in florida in mid June and the A/C did fine without even being on MAX A/C and I never notice road noise on any stretch of highway, that interfers with the audio system output, etc. I am candidly suprised to see as many dealer ordered cars with it. I think its a waste of $$$ that could well be spent on better served options if that is within your budget

Points well taken...perhaps the thermal glass isn't the best option for me. And the money can be better spent on other options (although the PCCBs are out of reach!). My climate isn't as hot as FL, but I was looking for a darker tint and decreased road noise. Thermal glass may also block out too much exhaust roar as well, not sure? Haven't driven any Porsches with this option.

I really like the 21" inch wheels in black and the color-matched wheel extensions but it does seem like nickel and dime-ing when it comes to the cost for the painted wheel arch/extensions. Oh well.

Any other advice on the build, or options you all would have chosen if you had known? I was looking at the gear shift in aluminum and Bi-xenons in black, if I don't go with thermal glass (to stay under budget).

Guys, wanted to post a photo from late November's delivery at Leipzig. What an experience! I also wanted to thank you all for the ordering advice & option codes. I think the Turbo came together nicely; ordered the espresso/cognac interior (difficult to see here) and it looks great!

Thanks again,

Smittycat

Very sharp looking.... but then again I am biased towards the black out look.
