Anybody add voice control?

I was reading up on voice activated control in my owners manual and getting excited about it only to find it is not on my car. I bought mine off the lot and did not realize it did not come on it.

Has anybody added this after purchase? Is it possible? How much?

If it makes you feel better, I ordered it, and in the past year I have used it exactly 3 times.
Looked like a must have when I ordered....... but would not miss it one bit.

Don't bother; spend you money on something else. I've had it on all my previous cars but decided to skip it on my current Cayenne. Like vitaman said, you'll use it a handful of times and then the novelty will wear off. On my Benzs and BMWs I only used it for address entry into the navi because I hated using the iDrive/COMMAND wheel. With the PCM's touch screen even that's a breeze. I'm happy my dealer talked me out of that option.

I have it and that is three times more than I've used it. I don't even know how to use it.

I ordered mine with the voice control.
I use it often to make phone calls, and I can testify that it doesn't work well.

TO make a call you have to say CALL LAST NAME, then FIRST NAME; like CALL SMITH, CHUCK. Often it will call the wrong guy and I have to hang up. I have to make a fake robot voice immitating the PCM to make it better understand me and rename my contacts on a first name basis.
It's voice controlled nav is terrible. I type only.

I have read on this forum that adding voice control is possible for a premium.
If you regularly used it in past cars I'd go for it, if VC is a first for you I'd say porsche doesn't do it well and you may be disappointed.
I also went through the voice recognition excersize.
I accidentally brush my hand over the button more often than I use VC on purpose, it cuts my radio off and I have to say cancel or end weird-ing out a passenger.

In past vehicles that had it I got fed up trying to get it to understand me..
With the ease of the iPhone and the user friendly PCM its not necessary IMHO .
I did go for online services though

Somewhat off topic ...

I have been trying to figure out how to program the Multi Purpose button on the left side of the steering wheel. In my owners manual it says the instructions are on page 139, but there IS NO page 139 in my manual!!!

I don't have the car yet but supposedly the PCM integrates with certain Internet apps such as Aha

Online services became available in late 2012 and 2013. Do you find it useful? I wonder what it would involve to add it to an earlier 2012.

I've rooted my Android so I have free hot spot so don't need that. What does online services provide on the PCM?

Thanks in advance...

I have voice control on 2 of my previous vehicles for almost 10 years, honestly, I have only used it a couple of times and each time is to show off to my passengers.
