I thought no PDK's on Cayennes because the PDK's aren't built to last for towing.

To me the current 8 speed auto is a more rounded gearbox for this type of vehicle than the pdk which feels more sports oriented the way it takes up from the get go. I'm not saying i don't like the shift of the pdk, but horses for course and the new 8 speed autos are very slick the way they shift through the gears once the engine has hit that sweet torque spot. It's quite possible the pdk may just not work well in a towing environment. Time will tell.

I was told during the factory tour in Leipzig that the 8 speed Tiptronic transmission (made in Japan) is the same one used in other high end cars.

That said, I've read a bit about the pdk and it looks interesting in that it apparently shifts smoother.

Meanwhile I love what I have

Not here in the US. Our version of the SQ5 will have the 3.0L direct injection, supercharged V6 coupled to essentially the same 8 speed slush box as the 958 has. It should be an impressive little ute.

Europe gets the oil burner.

Latest spy pics of virtually undisguised Macan. It does look pretty good and will undoubtedly only look better in the flesh....and without the tape on rear lighting.

I'm very interested to see how the Macan looks like in the flesh. The front looks very familiar and I like it, but I'm undecided on the rear- looks a little squat. Hope the interior holds up to the quality of the Cayenne.

I may be in the market by the time the Macan comes out, but will likely wait to see what the face-lifted 958 looks like... I still love my 958.

I would never consider it. So you remove all the things that makes it a truck and replace it with what? Less HP, better MPG, easier to park? Yeah..um..no thanks. I would rather go and pick up a GT2.

Guys - Bumping this year-old thread to see if anyone has changed their minds about the Macan after reading some of the recent reviews. I gave my dealer some money a few days ago to hold a pre-built white Turbo that arrives in a couple of months, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hesitant to get rid of my GTS. Regardless, the Macan reviews make it sound pretty amazing, assuming you don't need to tow or haul a bunch of large adults in the back seat all of the time. Thoughts?

I'm thinking the exact same thing. Have an allocation for a Turbo. Won't know for sure till I see & drive the launch car.

If it has PDK and is close in acceleration to the CTT, it will be my next car.
Like the smaller size but still want an SUV.

You should read the reviews I posted. They all come with PDK, which the reviewers rave about, and the Macan Turbo is very quick. 0-60 in 4.4, same as the CTT.
