Macan expected to steal into Cayennes sales. How many will make the switch?

If it has a tweaked version of Q5's new 230kw 650nm TDI 6 it should be sub 5 seconds...
I guess from a performance standpoint alone all GTS and, even CTT owners are on notice especially considering the massive fuel savings as well. Even new V8DS will need to pull its sock up...

Re the styling pepper i'm not sure either. I guess once that camo comes right off we will know which is the better looking out of the two....but until then let's just say it's ugly, slow....and kinda cramped and weird looking. I certainly like the thought of the extra room in the Cayenne after having an X3 in our family for so long, so the thought of another midsized SUV is not in our mind either....well definitely not at the moment anyway.
Mind you it'd be hard not to like a 958 CTT....or any 958 for that matter. And i agree the next size back ought to be a 911, and preferably a 911TT.

If it closely resembles the pics from Road and Track (http://www.roadandtrack.com/future-c...sche-macan-suv), I would consider adding it to the soon to be picked up CGTS.

I'm considering it.
I adore my Cayenne S and everything about it but I don't do any towing and my informal duties as a family transporter have dwindled since everyone in my family now has their own car, so why not downsize? Much as I would be honored to own a 981 Cayman since the 991 is just too absurdly priced, I appreciate the utility of an SUV and the ground clearance has saved my life and bumpers on more occasions than I like to think. The Cayenne is also a performance monster which I find much more than sufficiently fast enough for my city-based driving, it's luxurious, engaging and an all-around beast... but still, I just don't need all the space and size.
I stalk the Internet every day and have been tracking the Macan's development and I like what I see so far - it looks the part of a Porsche and has Cayenne DNA [a good thing in my books], but just in a smaller, curvier package. If it smoothly integrates some of the design cues previewed on the Panamera Sport Turismo, offers excellent performance/economy for a smaller SUV and carries over key features/options from the Cayenne such as a sports exhaust system and the Burmester High-End Surround Sound System, I would easily move from the Cayenne S to a Macan Turbo.
Only a few months and we'll see the real deal; I'll be watching this one very closely.

No.
If I trade I'd consider something with a 3rd row if my family gets bigger (GL450 or Q7). If I wanted something smaller I'd be looking at a 991. I'm glad Porsche will offer it, mostly because I couldn't bare to see the Cayenne shrink and the macaan fits that small suv niche in the market.
Porsche can't afford to ignore the market forever, I'm glad they got away from the one sportscar fits all mentality.
