2012 Cayenne aftermarket tow trailer hitch
#16
Unfortunately, I didn't obtain any feedback on bumper removal here.
So, i brought a new factory Porsche hitch kit online and visited my local Porsche dealer.
Paid $450.00 out the door install and had a free loaner (brand new MB GLK) for two days.
The price did not include the wired brake controller, but they said they would install for the price quoted above, if straightforward.
I was thinking, cool but sounds too good to be true.
To my surprise, turns out they were very nervous and unfamiliar with hooking up a wired brake controller once they actually got to work.
Long story short, they didn't do any brake control hookup work.
They thought i would have to run new wires from rear of vehicle to the front.
I told them i highly doubt it... but whatever.
I also own a wireless prodigy brake controller and decided to use that instead.
They also didn't think that would work.....i told them it will.
Went home, hooked up a trailer, brakes worked just fine.
The only issue is that i had a tail lamp and brake light warning message flashing on the display.
It's a new trailer, with nice, functional LED lights. Not sure what the problem is...or how to get rid of it.
Regardless, the hitch functions as designed, and my trailer has tandem electric brakes, and lights that work.
