I know this is an old thread but I really appreciated the detailed write-up.

My 2014 is a one-owner which was supplied and serviced exclusively by the same Porsche Dealer. It's presently mid way between scheduled services with 63K miles. I always like to do an oil and filter change on a new (to me) vehicle and drained the oil today. Both oil and filter were filthy black. Is this normal with a diesel?

This is the first diesel I've owned. I'm used to the oil coming out of my Jaguar looking as clean as it was when it went in so this was a big surprise..

Despite the European specification having a 2 year / 10K mile service interval, I'll follow the same oil change interval recommended for USA specification and change it annually.
