Yesterday I picked up my car from IPB Autosport in Sacramento, who installed the GIAC tune. My first impression is WOW. The throttle response and the increase in power seems to be significant. When I got onto the freeway at 45 mph I hit the pedal and the acceleration was awesome, smiling from ear to ear.

I would like to thank Ron Kain owner of IPB Autosport who is a GIAC authorized dealer for his quick turnaround. If you live in Northern California he is certainly somebody I highly recommend. Also thanks to Austin at GIAC who answered all my questions.

Thanks for posting. What's the easiest way to get a GIAC tune? I'd really like to minimize the downtime. Too bad it's not a plug-n-play piggyback.

 

I brought my car to IPB on Monday and Wednesday at noon the car was ready with new tune.

 

Would have been nice to have some objective data to compare before and after HP (ie 1/4 mile times, trap speed, dyno, etc). Glad your enjoying it! Been thinking about getting it for a while.

 

I agree with you, however , the difference in power is VERY noticeable. Testing I believe will only verify GIAC claims.

 

I keep procrastinating and it sounds so wonderful....

I might be driving down to SoCal next month. If I came by GIAC (with an appointment of course), how long would it take to get the tune installed?

It all depends on whether or not we've flashed your specific version number. If we've done the version before, we can typically have it completed in about one hour. If we need to read the ECU out and make a file tailored to your exact version, then it can take as much as 4-5 hours.

Austin, can I just overnight my ECU to GIAC? Also, I have a pretty old PCM version on the ECU - does the tune update the PCM version (2.20), should I get it updated by the dealer before tune or is it unrelated?

Is this real DME reprogramming or kind of tuning box?

 

This is a true ECU recalibration. This is NOT a tuning box, nor is it an OEM performance file repackaged as an aftermarket performance calibration.

 

Let me start off by saying that I blame bellemarc for my upgrade itch!

Recently I went drove down to SoCal from SF. It was the first time I have been able to really punch my '14 CTTS. The power was awesome! However, the turbo lag was noticeable, but I didn't think it was horrible. Needless to say I was grinning all the way down.

While down in Anaheim, I stopped by Emmanuel Design to have the GIAC tune applied. A shout out to Thomas for picking me up and dropping me off from my hotel (Disneyland ). I was looking forward to the drive home to test out the tune!

All I can saw is WOW!
Like bellemarc said, they power is immediate. The boost builds up so much faster it was like I was driving a different car. I constantly looked for slower cars to over take as the speed rush was exhilarating!
