CTT Servotronic Steering Noise Help
Hi all
The steering on my CTT groans at low speed, mostly when turning right but can happen when turning left too. The groan starts from 1/4 turn and will remain until I turn back to straight position.
I have the servotronic option, is the noise linked to that? My old 955 CTT that also had servotronic made the same noise at the same speeds and turning direction hence the assumption.
If it is this, is there a fix, it makes my expensive car sound like crap.
Thanks
Carl

Are you sure the groaning noise is from the steering system and not from the Diffs? My CT makes noises when making 90 degrees turns at low speeds (left and right) and I believe this is caused by the PTV system.

Its the same noise that happens at the same time that it did in my 2005 CTT, which didn't have PTV or PDCC but did have servotronic.
These cars are very mechanically sounding, which is disappointing, didn't realise it pre purchase.

I have servotronic (now called Power Steering Plus) on my 2013 diesel and I can't say I hear anything abnormal that I don't hear from any other power assisted AWD cars when I do low speed tight turns like you describe.
I can hear the PS pump going which can sometimes sounds like a "groan", but it sounds pretty much the same as any other hydraulic power steering system I've driven.
Maybe a video what you are experiencing will let people better assess if it seems normal or not.
