Please see . The noise seems rpm relevant. Can't hear it when driving as it is easily buried by the real engine sound. I also don't feel any performance degradation however the noise sounds annoying & suspicious -- I don't think I had it when I first purchased it. Any advices will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

 

Doesn't sound terribly abnormal - could be something driven by the serpentine belt. Test for that is to remove the belt and run the engine briefly to see if the noise is gone. The belt replacement interval is around 100k or so - but worth looking at it. Any sign of cracking of the rubber is cause for replacement.

 

Hey did you ever figure out what this was. I don't have the whine so much as the other background noise you seem to get at 2k rpm. Sort of a clicking. Mine shows at 3k and trying to figure what it is.
