Just ordered a 2013 Cayenne V-6!!

If you buy a V6 expecting V8 performance, of course you'll be disappointed. The V6, however, is a great little engine that moves the Cayenne around just fine. The V6 is what I was getting until the CD was released (I wanted the range/mpg).
Edit: Currently (at the time of his post the GTS wasn't available) the prices as configured are 67,355 for the V6. While that is 2k over the base S price, the S as configured comes out at 78,405 which is substantially lower than a base GTS. As configured a GTS lists at 94,455. So yes your assertion that "for the price" he should have gotten a GTS (or any V8) is just silly bordering on the absurd.

You must get some deal on the GTS because that build is no where near GTS territory price wise. I'd have to double check, but I don't think that even hits the base S price and he would still have to add all those options.

depends on your driving skills really, its alot more convenient with park assist. and the comfort light package, if you like LED light than you must have it!
it makes the car unique at night. even though BMW and mercedes SUV probably comes standard with LED lights Porsche is different, you can customize it however you want, which is unique in a sense.

And a horrifically bad one that you made.
Obviously I don't. The argument here is one of price, yet you ignore the fact that his V6 spec is ~$11k more by moving to the S. Without the OP coming back and saying this or that option really wasn't important (and at 11k it has to be some big ones), the "lightly optioned" S argument doesn't hold water as it is trying to compare two different things.
Power is not everything to everyone. Some of us are quite happy to forego those extra cylinders to spend the money on things we feel are more important.
Nearing $70k for a Porsche V6 sport wagon is ridiculous. Even if its a Porsche...Wouldn't you agree?

When you are making the claim that it is just a little bit more than his V6 build and he should consider that "for the price" instead, then yes it is quite ludicrous. As I showed that "little bit more" is in the range of $25k. No reasonable person would consider that as a good example for the case you were trying to make.
No matter how you option them, a comparable V6 and S build will come out with the S being significantly more. There is no way around that.
And in this specific case we are not talking about a "lightly optioned" car.
That is the whole point that is for some reason too far over your head to grasp. A base S has no relation to the V6 that he ordered. You can not seriously compare a well optioned V6 with a base S on any grounds other than they look similar from the outside. I highly doubt he walked into the dealer and just started picking options with no interest in them what so ever and we all know how base in any base Porsche is.
If price is an issue, you buy the car that you can/want to pay for with the options that will make you happy in your budget. If price is not a limiting factor, you still buy the car that you are going to be most happy with.
This is a case where the OP picked out a car that they wanted with the options they wanted and you are quite simply telling them either A) he should spend $11k more and get the S or B) get the base S and be happy without $11k worth of options that you wanted.
I already stated I bought a Diesel and I didn't get that over the V6 because it was just a "little bit more". I did it because that is the car I wanted and I'm quite happy with it. Had the diesel been announced any later I would have been upset that I didn't get the chance go that route, but I would have loved that V6. The S offers nothing practical or useful for my needs and in fact has some significant drawbacks compared to the V6/TDI based on the reasons I ordered it.
Are you for real? A lightly optioned "S" is in referenced to a comparable loaded V6.
And in this specific case we are not talking about a "lightly optioned" car.
As I mentioned in the previous comment, for that amount he should considered a V8 spec
if price is an issue get a lightly optioned S.

You must have a V6 and wish you had a V8 or something...

You did write a response and I quoted it, then you edited out your last two responses. Lots of class and integrity you are showing.

I deleted my responses because apparently you have all the answer.
Be happy with your V6 and move on
Cheers

How's the new vehicle?
I am still waiting for mine. I'm back on the forums starting to get excited about seeing my car person. It takes so long - they will start building mid-March. I ordered in the end of December.
How are you liking the stick? I've heard the shifting is a little notchy for the first couple thousand miles.
