Fabspeed bypass pipe issue.... As usual

Well I installed my bypass pipes last night and I love the added noise to my pepper. Now I was driving around seeing if I had the infamous rattle on the car while driving. Random noises here and there. Nothing substantial other than a random interior rattle that ill pinpoint at a later date. Now this morning I start the truck up and I get this AWFUL rattle. I blip the throttle real fast and it goes away. I go to look under the car to see if I can see anything and I have a exhaust leak. I think the cause to all of our problems is the slip fitting that porsche uses to connect the exhaust. It was cold enough that I could see the exhaust fumes coming from both ends of the slip fitting. They are there tight. I'm gonna look under the car later and see if anything needs any tightening. Just wanted to see if anyone had any solutions to this... It's kind of embarrassing.

If you can see exhaust coming out of the connections then something is not quite right. Maybe the diameter of the bypasses don't match your cat-back portion. Sorry to hear about that.

Hi Rvca, sorry to hear about your issue and its not supposed to have any kind of rattle. The factory sleeve clamps that join the two pipes may not be tightened down fully or something is not lined up correctly. Our Pipes have hangers on them so it should keep them from moving around too much, so make sure nothing is rubbing on the metal hangers and the sleeve clamp is properly seated evenly on both pipes so it has a good seal. Its always recommended to check all hardware and connections after an exhaust upgrade, as things can move and loosen due to expansion and contraction of the new parts. I would get under the car and tighten the clamps down more and check all other connections to verify there is nothing loose. If you are still having an issue, give us a call directly or you can always add a little exhaust sealant around both pipe connections so the sleeve clamp really locks everything down and will help eliminate any kind of smoke coming from it.
Thanks,

Ended up going to fabspeed a months ago and getting them looked at. My hanger was too long so it was hitting the transmission brace. They shortened them and now it's ready to go. No vibration or anything. Added their rear exhaust tips, HOLY **** the truck is loud as anything now. Both worth while additions. Fabspeed = great products, customer service, and performance.
