Also did the silver trim on the lift gate right below the window, and the lower silver trim across the doors with it. I did vinyl on the door pillars though
Thanks guys. I should clarify that I was talking about the mounting rails that are in the roof. I removed the actual rails and like the look better without them anyway but I bought black rails in the first place.

I will try the tips and tricks. Does the plastidip work well on the door handles too? Doesn't interfere with entry and drive at all?

Thanks. I want to finish getting the "murder" job done before long.

Im referring to these guys, is this the same thing you mean? If so, just remove them to dip them.

I'll let you know about the door handles. Im doing them this week, maybe at least one of them tonight if I have the time. I don't have entry and drive though, so I wont be able to comment on that.

Yep that's what I meant. I guess I didn't look close enough to realize they came out. I need to go buy some more spray. Maybe I'll do that tonight then I can pull them and start on the side trim.

Did you end up doing the small trim around the windows with plastidip or vinyl?

I haven't done the small trim around the window yet, only the big pieces, but Im pretty sure Im going to try and plastidip those just because those pieces seem more of a pain to wrap. Im not sure how it will hold up to the doors opening and closing though so I may end up going back and wrapping it...

I used vinyl on the large pillars between the 2 doors and between the rear door and the rear side window since those pieces were pretty easy and I was pretty sure that plastidip would get pulled off.

Sorry for the thread hijack, should probably just start another one.

I did a little esplorin tonight. The pillar trim from between the doors actually comes off fairly easily. There is a piece of plastic trim on the bottom that hides two screws. Pull those out and the top pops out. Then there are two screws holding a bracket that keep the top small trim held tight. It pulls loose from snap in clips along the whole length.

The only problem is I'm not sure how to get the trim around the rear quarter window out. I have a feeling it is just snapped in there somehow as well but I didn't want to pry too hard on it.

I sprayed the first pillar trim piece, did the rear hatch trim, and also did both driver's side door handles. I used the mask it back a couple inches and pull it off for the door handles and it worked well.

I'll have to see how I decide to tackle the rest.

I wish I would've realized that piece popped out before wrapping it on the car... Ah well. That's fantastic about the small trim pieces coming off easily! Let me know how that holds up to the door opening and closing. Ive worried it would wear on it, hence the vinyl.

The rear quarter window trim, from what I understand, requires removal of the rear quarter window. Im sure its do-able, but I haven't had the cajones to start popping the windows out just yet

Pretty much finished the driver's side tonight. The plastidip didn't hold on the handles. Started rubbing off the plastic parts after a couple uses. Put some vinyl on there tonight. That was fun but is doable.

I sprayed all the trim except the bottom door trim and the handles. Spread a little gummi pflege on the trim and so far the doors aren't rubbing too bad on the plastidip. I have a bit of a mess to clean up from overspray but I like the look with it all black.

I'll start a new thread and post some pictures of before and after when I get a chance.

Ahhh that sucks about the door handles.. I was hoping it would hold up on there. Definitely would like to see how it looks so far!
