Hi! I'm a first time Porsche owner. Bought a beautiful new 2016 black base Porsche Cayenne. It's been making the weirdest sounds at low speeds, especially as I pull in and out of my garage and somewhat as I shift between drive, park and reverse. It even does it as I'm driving slowly through winding canyons. It's somewhere between a clicking, ticking and grinding noise. I feel like it's the transmission. I've recorded video of it here:

My 16 GTS sounds like a tension wire is being pulled too much. Strange, but it sounds mechanical so i am not concerned about it. Only happens at really low speed like yours and when turning the wheel slightly.

 

Thanks for your response. Turns out it was the transfer case. Dealer is warranting the part. Does that give you or anyone else any insight as to what happened or if the problem was serious? I have a hard time believing this isn't a common problem considering my rental Cayenne is making the same awful sound. Weird!!
