What to do in Chicago over Memorial day weekend?
Chicago 6Speeders,
I need a bit of advice...
I will be in Chicago (Palatine actually) this coming weekend and was looking for any advise on what is going on. Festivals, Outdoor concerts and the like. I know the musuems, Cubs game and standard landmark stuff is a must see, but I was hoping for a local's opinion on what would be the must see events that I would not be pruvy to by just searching the net.
There will be 3 couples (one 6 months pregnant- but a trooper) and we only have Navy Pier and a hike up a local "Mountain" that offers a view of the skyline on the agenda so far
I have only been to Chicago a couple of times and my buddy who moved up recently does not really plan stuff in advance - likes to just decide what we are doing on the fly.
Thank you all in advance,
Wilson

A pregnant woman hiking up a steep hill? Does anybody know how to deliver a baby?
There are several boat cruises on the pier you may want to try. Check out the top of the Hancock or Sears tower, assuming the sky is clear. Always worth checking out....

I had the same thoughts about my pregnant friend. I am told that it is not really a hike in the sense of being out on the Appalachain Trail, but a groomed path up a relatively small hill.
She is all up for walking around the pier and downtown... so we shall see.
I like the idea of the boat cruises. Thank you.

Dinner at gejas could be fun gejascafe.com. Cool atmosphere and music (live classical spanish guitar).
Else I would also plan on going to do some outdoorsy stuff while it's nice out. Maybe a trip to the Chicago Botanic Gardens? (Just off Lake Cook road & 41?)
