So where's everybody going May 2nd? Park Meadows or Southlands??

I'm gonna check out the Southlands on May 2. Very much looking forward to it.
Edit- just saw the Lafayette mention- I live near Lafayette (Erie) and never knew there was a gathering there- what's the 411 on that? Possible to swing by there on the way to Southlands?

exactly, hence the reason why the GI event should remain only the 2nd Saturday. I plan on heading up to yours for sure, Ferg.

I could not agree more that we should help other shows along. As long as there is not a conflict I would go to the GI event once a month but no more. I certainly want to try the official C&C event as I have a "Don't knock it till you've tried it" attitude.

Corner of 95th St and Arapahoe at what used to be Cino's coffee now The Brewing Market.
I've been doing this show, first Saturday of each month for couple of years now. 7am till 10.
Sorry but with two kids and Saturday activities, south Denver is not going to happen for me on a regular basis. I plan on checking out the GI show this summer.

I agree. I will be only attending the GI once a month. I do think if we kept it to once a month it would be a better turnout. Every week is too much. I think on the 2nd I will go down to the GI meet and head over to the Southlands meet around 9.30 or so.

Too funny. If you come up I-25 in the morning, the long arm of the law is usually out waiting for us.
I'll come by and say hello at the Lafayette location, Ferg.

I will state it again, I think that it is important for all of us to come together and support all the events. I understand that it is tough for the Boulderites to make it down south all the time and likewise it is tough for the Denverites to make it North all the time, but making the attempt a couple of times during the season is good and shows support.
This should never become an us versus them scene. We are all auto enthusiasts.

The one idea that was strongly agreed upon was that Imola2001 was disruptive to the RME and a few other forums. That problem has been resolved.
Bill and Jim seem like ok people, definitely dedicated to their cause, but if I had some skin in the game, I would be too. This is definitely not us vs. them. We have an established / well liked event and location, they are locked into Southlands. I do appreciate their enthusiasm and perseverance, they have an interesting road ahead of them. I wish them luck.
As for the meets, Ferg has his on the 1st weekend in Lafayette/Boulder, we have ours on the 2nd weekend at GI/Lone Tree and Bill & Jim have theirs whenever they want. In the big scope of things, nothing has changed outside of another group wanting to have an event in Aurora.
For me, "home" will be GI on the 2nd Sat, I'll probable make Fergs every now and then, and probably check out Bill and Jims sometime this summer just as I would any other gathering of cars.
Not sure where the controversy is, want to hang with us, great- want to hang with them, 'aint nothing but a thang'.

I will probably hit the southlands show on May 2, assuming I'm actually in town!
I hope we can mix and match and have people attending each of the shows from time to time.
Since both shows are getting the same amount of press on tuner car(aka import) forums, I would presume to think that both shows will have similar numbers of tuner cars soon. However, having the shows in the morning will only get the true enthusiasts out, so no one should worry about 16 year old kids bringing out their newly lowered parent's hand me down rides and doing burnouts.
Some tuner cars are actually VERY fast, and very surprising. The owners are generally cool to chat with, so I'm ok with them being at both shows.
