I'd try Souveran its a great product. If you want to go the step above that go for Zymol Concours. If you want cheaper you can give Victoria's Concours a go. Very good wax for the money. Deep and wet lacking some of Pinnacles Jetting though IMO.

What is the price point on the Pinnacle? I paid around $60 for the blackfire. I'm guessing it will do probably 20-30 applications based on how little it took to do my car. Then again, I don't have a roof which helps....

By the way, awesome avatar. Do you know Max down there? Yellow GT3? I can't even think of his screen name now off the top of my head it's been so long since I've seen him post.

Try some of the Zymol Vintage which I bought from Moe on this board. It's a little pricer than most of the stuff but the depth and shine are undeniable.

The Zymol Concours sounds a little pricey for my budget. The Pinnacle sounds more reasonable. Is there a noticeable difference or there is a major drop off with the point of diminishing returns?

Gil's Lambo looks great with the Zymol Vintage on there. Where does that fall into the pricing Gil?

Steelth: Were you at the Cars for the Cure? Which car were you in? I go every year. You're right. Max is very cool. Disappointing we don't hear from him more often. Tomato farming keeps him very busy I'm sure His wife is really nice too.

Sorry, I should have read the whole thread first. Didn't realize the price point you guys were talking about. When I read your first post you said the wax was expensive so I figured it was up there. I read someone was talking about the Zymol Concours which is in the $300-500 range so I figured I'd recommend Vintage but if the Concours is high then forget it. Vintage is about $2,000.

Can I clarify? Are you saying your Zymol Vintage wax cost $2000?

Not just mine, but everyones.

No worries, you can get free shipping...LOL

It really is good stuff though and if one is going to spend $500K on vehicles than what is another $2,000 to make them look their best and protect them? It's not going on a 1988 Honda.

You've lost your mind. Then again, that's only 1/3 of your monthly food budget

I guess if you can justify the initial expenditure, the "lifetime" refills could potentially balance it out. Seems like a huge nut to drop on car product though....

How do you get a refill out of them? Do you have to send them the empty container?

Yes you ship them the empty crystal but I never had to do it yet. I think price is all relative so I never say someone spent too much on anything because if they bought it they can obviously afford it and it makes sense to them. Many people say watches or cars are too expensive. It is because to them, under their income and budget these things are not a priority and seem expensive. It's all relative to your comfort level.

Wax, cars, and watches are on two different playing fields though. You something tangible to show for your expense when it comes to watches and cars.

I guess you just have to ask if there is a significant difference between a $2000 and an $80 wax. I wonder if there has ever been a comparison between these two products on side by side body panels? I keep going back to that point of diminishing returns argument. The lifetime refills are nice though.

I would love to see a hood split in half with painters tape and have that Zymol and a sub $100 wax applied for comparison.

In fairness, I can't comment on the side by side as I have not tried it.

On the financial side of it, one can also argue that the cost of ownership on a nice car is over $1,000 per month for the pleasure of having it while my total downside on this purchase cannot exceed $2,000 or 2 months worth of only one of my vehicles depreciation.

I wonder with a product like the high end Zymol.... Are you paying for a $2000 wax product, or 10 refills of a $200 wax product. Either way, if money was not an issue I would probably buy it too. Last time you would ever have to buy wax

Isn't there a product that is something like $5K?
