water spots on HRE lip... remedy?

My HRE542R should be coming in by Tuesday according to FedEx. In the pictures the seller posted, i noticed that there were many waterspots on the lip that had dried up. I want to get rid of that and make the rims look like new as soon as I get them. What would be the best thing to use? I heard white vinegar works well for windows... but I don't know about rims.... Any suggestions? Thanks!

God bless,

Bryant

Clean terry, white, rags and a can of Mother's Alum. polish (follow directions on can) - oh and a comfortable chair or something to sit on... this will take a while

The HRE lips are an un-finished aluminum lip. The proper and SAFE way of caring for them is to use a non-caustic cleaner. If it's just water spots, use zymol Metall. It will gently polish the lips back to their original lustre. If it's hard spots that won't come off, you'll need to polish them with a high-quality polish like Menzerna Final Polish, and then follow it up with zymol Metall. You'll need to use microfiber towels when polishing as the terry towel may induce further scratching due to the irregular pattern of the nap compared to a microfiber's soft, uniform nap. PM me if you need the products.

NYSpeedRacer84,

You can clean the grime off with some wheel cleaner like P21S Wheel Cleaner Gel. The polish them up with Adam's Metal 1 and 2 perfect for non clear coated wheels.
