Maserati QPorte Detailed to perfection
Brian and I were absolutely owned by this car. This is car was an add on at the end of a very long strech (5 Ferrari's detailed for concours as well as a Z06 in a 3 day stretch). The owner had this car in the shop and when it was returned it was "swirled" badly.
The owner is one of our favorite clients, and demands absolute perfection, time and cost is no object. This Quattroporte took 25+ man hours over two days because of the depth of the defects as well as the ultra soft paint that we had to develop new techninques to finish out. What appeared as swirlmarks where really a bunch of random isolated scratches, and the paint was so soft that going more aggresive then SIP left deep circular marring. So not only did the paint require a lot of polishing to remove the rids, but then took a long time to finese out and finish 100 percent micromarring and hologramming free.
We started around 3 PM Saturday, worked until 10 Saturday night, and returned Sunday at 11 AM and finished up 6 PM. In total we made about 7-8 passes over the paint using SIP/IP/OP/UF/RMG with various 4 inch and 7 1/2 inch LC pads. The paint was waxed with the new P21s 100%.
Some before pictures in the halogens. There was trails, holograms, light swirls, and tons of RIDS.
A lot of the polishing on this car (remember this client demands 100 percent from every edge, corner, seam on the paint) was done with 4 inch pads working various tough to to areas.
Video of working SIP down very well. Each step had to me finished out completely, as the soft paint was absolutely unforgivening if each product was not taken completely down.

We constantly checked the paint in the sun to ensure there was no holograms or micromarring. After polishing, the paint was wiped with Prep Sol and inspected in various light.

The owner loves 'nubas so it was time to try the new P21s 100 percent. It really has a crisp, deep look that compliments this car perfectly.

I haven't thought about that, I will have to look into the specs for sure. Although, considering the fact we don't sell products, and that we don't have much room for new clients, I don't know that it would make much sense to do so.

I'm drooling some much from the workmanship on this fine fine piece of art, it's truly one of my favorites period! From one amigo to another!
