You might also try Plexus. Its an aersol plastic polish that I LOVE.

Ive also used more abrasive car polishes and even Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish on some severely pitted headlights before with great results. Granted that was on my beater Ford for which I wasn't too worried about the outcome.

As was said above, if they are bad enough you can feel them with your fingernail, you are probably out of luck.

I think the problem is that you were using a wax applicator pad. You need to polish it similarly to paint, start with a wool buffing pad, and work you way down to swirl mark remover, then ultrafina. If you don't have the chemicals yourself, just take it down to a local detail shop, and they should be able to take care of it for you.

yup. The wax applicator pad won't do much polishing. You could also have Venture Shield applied on the the lights, and it should cover most of the scratches.

You need to use a true polish like Menzerna SIP or 106ff with a more aggressive pad. Usually SIP, Orange pad, and a flex or pc will do the trick. You can then follow up with another polish/pad combo like 106/white pad and finish off the lights.

VentureShield is a clear film that will simply hide everything underneath. It's like a thick seran wrap that is applied to the paint and is durable and prevents rock chips and scratches. Hope this helps. Let me know if it's not making sense.
