Bumper indentation :(

Had a get together with a few people and one of them walks through the door and casually says "oh I hit your C63." Everyone laughed it off as a joke because that's what it sounded like, especially being a new car and all. Anyway, the next day something caught my eye and upon closer inspection I realized it was no joke. How the heck he managed to kiss my bumper I have no idea considering there is NO REASON he needed to park that close, and it's not like he needed to parallel park either!

Anyway, I know it really is insignificant, but darned if I can't help my eyes from gravitating towards it everytime

The indentation is no bigger than my pinky nail, and maybe 2mm deep. Is there anyway to pop this out with heat? I tried using a hair dryer but to no avail. Maybe not hot enough? The actual plastic doesn't appear to be deformed, just the layer of clear coat/paint? Plus a couple light scratches on the black plastic diffuser (really **** aren't I).

Thanks for any suggestions.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news friend, but that bumper may be ruined. You see, it's made of a plastic material that isn't like metal. So it can't be pulled out. It's pretty much indented and I'm not positive, but the only way to fix it is to replace it. I will double check with my body shop. What a tool your friend is; hitting your bumper and just laughing it off. I'd be devastated if I did that to someone else's car.

you'll probably have to pull the bumper cover off, heat it up and push it out from the inside. even so, it's unlikely it'll be perfect. your friend should pay to have it repaired IMO.

Seriously

And you are totally not being too '****', I think most of us would feel the same way.

Thanks for the suggestions and support. I actually wish the damage were more extensive so that it would be a no brainer to have it repaired. I hate these type of dings that you eventually say "ah screw it." But I was actually expecting/hoping to hear someone say "easy 5 min DIY repair," wishful thinking I guess haha.

I might have some trim pieces painted in the future, so maybe I'll have them look at it then. Btw, my friend let his buddy park his car...I didn't realize he couldn't drive or I would've taken it seriously.

You can always put a 6speed or AAA sticker on it. I'm sure your friend will see it and say how silly it looks with the sticker and you can reply with your own comments after that

That can be filled ( they have some great poly fillers out now, even for TPO) but will require paint of course.
