Help! Gasoline all over car
Gas Station attendant last night when going to give me gass spilled tons of gasoline all over my car. I mean all over! Not a sprinkle a full out spraying everywhere. He did not realize it was spewing and flooding my trunk and door of my Porsche Boxster. All parts that the gas got on were covered with Venture Shield Clear Bra. Fortunately, I had some Adams car soap and immediately pured water on it and tried to get it off with the soap, but it was late at night and tough to see. As an aside, then he proceeds to smoke next to the car doused in gasoline and refuses to call the manager, so I called the police and filled out an incident report. What do you guys recommend for cleaning the clear bra and the rims? Do you think the clear bra is ruined? The gas also went into the side vent on the Boxster! Not a good night for me Thanks!

Well this is the first time I have heard of a clear bra getting gas on it. I would wash it and see what it looks like. I have been installing film for years and have never seen this. I will ask around today and see what I can find out. Let me know what you see in the morning. Hopefully the film is not stained or damaged.

That is a bummer.
Gasoline is technically a solvent, so there could be a couple of potential outcomes.
It shouldn't hurt your painted or clearcoated surfaces as long as it wasn't allowed to sit on them for extended periods of time.
As for the clear film, who knows. Being a solvent it could potentially partially dissolve the film, it could weaken the glue on the film, discolor the film... there are a lot of potential hazards. I would definitely take lots of pictures and pay close attention to what is happening with the film in the next few days.
