Dyed airbag to match
I have been wanting a 3 spoke wheel for a while now. The combo was a little over $1000 new from the dealer. After waiting a few months, the combo went up to $600 for the wheel, & $900 for the Airbag! It want from just under $500, to almost $1000! eBay went the same way, prices jumped over night.
After a lot of searching & some luck, I got a new wheel for $200, & found a YELLOW airbag on eBay for $300. Hell, I'll just dye it, black.
The airbag
My dye job, perfect match
In the car...
Yes, the car is dirty, it's been raining, snowing, & sleeting for a few weeks, & I've been sick.

Looks great!
What dye did you use?
I did a similar dye job working with the folks at Leatherique to re dye the entire interior of one of my show cars from gray to black and yellow and it turned out nicely. I ended up doing a lot of it via airbrush.
What method did you use?

The leather was cleaned, then dried for 1 day.
I used a horse hair small brush & just brushed it on, is X motion. 2 light full coats, then a touch up coat, allowing about 2hrs in between the coats.

Nope, I didn't need to sand it at all. The leather soaked it right up. There are different types of dye. One is like paint & it just sits on the top of the leather, this would need to be sanded, so the new dye can soak in.
