If you clay it right away, it should do the trick. Make sure to polish and wax afterwards.

Here's a great kit:

Hi Moe,

I currently have a Makita buffer which I normally use, but I've been wanting to try a Port a cable or the flex can you tell me what if any are differences in the two?

I will order one of the polishers and the polishing kit once I know which one will be best for me.

Then I hope to spent a whole weekend detailing the car now that the Texas heat has die out some. Thanks for you help.

Jose

The PC is a step up from hand application. If you truly want a tool that is professional-grade, will get you better results in less time than a PC, then go with the flex. The flex will have considerable less vibration and noise as well. You can also use it to apply a sealant or liquid wax as well.

Here are some great kits that are our best sellers:

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hey Moe,

I own a 02 Porsche C2,and recently purchased some of Meguiars 'Ultimate' rubber & plastic coditioner for the ext rubber window seals,as I started to use this I noticed that there was a lot of black coming off on to the cloth, and also caused the rubber to have a 'tacky' feeling...is this normal? Should I be using a different product?

Thanks,

Todd

Hi Todd..the black coming off is some of the oxidized rubber and the carbon that's in the rubber. There's a cleaner that's in that product that's obviously doing this. Not a problem. However, the surface should not be tacky. It should have a satin finish and feel smooth and dry to the touch. You can get the tacky feel out by simply using alcohol and wiping down the trim. Just make sure you condition with a proper product...we recommend 303 aerospace protectant.

Should I clean all the trim before app of 303?
If so,a particular cleaner or just alcohol?

Clean all the trim you'll be using 303 on.

Alcohol should work just fine if you're conditioning right afterward.

Knowledge is better shared than kept secret.

If doing by hand, clay, hand polish, and wax...here's our best kit for that:

http://www.glisteningperfectionstore...Wax-Kit/Detail

If doing by a machine, and the paint isn't too swirled or scratched, after claying, polish with Menzerna Power Finish and White GP pad, then go to a wax of choice.

Hope this helps...let me know

Sup Moe...

What would you recommend cleaning on wood trim with thin clear coat? Keeping it clean, no polish. I was thinking of detail spray, or Griots interior cleaner. Though Detail Spray may seem much better, in my mind. What would you prefer or prefer something else?

hey Moe,
Im interested in a polisher but really don't know which one to get. Its between the flex and the porter cable. This is going to be my first polisher and i want something thats easy to use and not gonna hurt my cars paint. I wanna know what you would recommend cause you have a lot of years in the industry?
Thanks,
Noah

Hi Noah. IMHO, the flex should be the only polisher in your hands. It's such an amazing tool that when compared with the pc, cuts your correction time by 30-50%, results that are far superior, a tool that last decades, and a tool that you won't outgrow. You can compound, polish, and wax with the flex.

What makes the flex even more amazing is its ability to correct paint almost like a rotary, but it's as safe as a pc. So you don't have to worry about burning the paint.

Here's a great kit to choose...it's our most popular polishing kit:
