Question about Clear Bra

I am thinking about having this applied to a new WHITE C2S....my concern is the film "yellowing" over time and making a white car look worse...I would appreciate your thoughts.

Also recommendations on which parts of the car to cover and how much hood coverage if I do it...thanks

Congratulations on the new Porsche. I highly recommend to wrap the full front end with Venture Shield clearcoated film. The 3M can turn really yellow, and look really bad. If you take good care of your Venture Shield you shouldn't have any problems with it turning yellow. White is difficult because "ANY" tint at all in the film and it will show up. This is why I recommend wrap the full fenders, and full hood and it will look really uniform. The other concern with white cars is trapping dirt and dust underneath the film. I recommend you find a good local installer who has a controlled environment to install the film. If they're detailing cars in the same room as the Venture Shield installation it's much easier to catch some debris, or dust underneath the film, and it's easy to spot on a white car. Good luck!!!!

+1....get the full coverage whenever possible. I will say, maybe because I'm OCD, expect a little yellowing of the film. No matter how well you maintain the film, there will be a slight difference on a white car. Just make sure to constantly care for the film. You need to wax using a non-yellow carnauba product and polish the film with a light polish or a paint cleanser. This should help in minimizing the yellowing effect. Hope this helps.

Providing protection from ultra violet radiation (UVR) is very important to avoid photo synthesis (colour fading / yellowing) UVR protection is a sacrificial / renewable component; this is due to the UV protection layer being degraded by exposure to the elements (sun, sand, road or sea salt, and etc) so it is imperative that you renew it and needs to be re-applied on a regular 45 to 60 day basis (dependent upon location climatic condition)
Application- use 303 Space Protectant, spray product onto a micro fibre towel, gently wipe surface working from the centre outwards

On a white vehicle, you will naturally get a 5% difference in tone once the film is applied. On white, this is why we recommend going with a full panel application over installing a partial hood / fender. Where the film stops is where it bugs many of our customers, which is why most of our applications are full panel apps.

Never heard of it. Be careful of what brand the dealer is offering. Just because an Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Ferrari, etc. dealer is pushing something, doesn't mean it's a good product. If most of us detailers have never heard of something, it's safe to say you should consider alternative products.

Having a hard time justifying installing a product that helps the car in some ways but also may hinder the appearance in other ways.....may just go naked unitl they come out with a product that is a no brainer.

I have a white 997 turbo and I was torn with this as well. I only buy white cars and every one I have put a bra on it has turned yellow over time and looks like crap after time. I have decided to go the naked route and I have gotten a couple of rock chips over the last year but have fixed them and I am happy I did not go the bra route. Let me preface this by saying my car is mainly a weekend car only so it does not see a lot of mileage. I know if it had a bra at some point I would have to pull it off and do it again. Good luck on your decision.

I always have mixed feelings with clear bra's. Pay or pay later, choice is yours. At some point in time you will have to remove the clear bra and replace it.

If it is replaced due to yellowing then why would you pay? Thats what the warranty is for.
