Help Polishing 2002 Jeep Paint

I have done my Audi a couple times, with great results; but my 2002 Red Grand Cherokee is in a little worse shape. It has been through alot of carwashes, and still shines really well, but it has alot of swirl marks and imperfections.

I have a Porter-Cable 7424, and need to buy some new pads. I have some old Lake Country CCS pads, but heard there are better pads out there. Would stepping down from 6.5 inch do anything?

My plan is to clay, compound, polish, and seal.

In regards to Polishes, I think I need a compound. So I was going to buy Menzerna Power Gloss. Is this the best product? What pad should I use?

What Should I follow this up with? I have some Menzerna 106F.

For the sealant I was planning on using Klasse AIO and then a couple coats of sealant glaze.

Can Anyone point me in the right direction?

Great question and it seems you've got a bear on your hands.

My best advice is the following:

Menzerna SIP - GP Yellow or Orange, LC makes our pads, polishing pad. You may find that the purple wool pads can come in handy as well.

Menzerna Super Finish - This is similar and replaced the 106ff you might have. It seems as you have enough of the product so use this with our CCS White pad.

Power Gloss (Optional) - The reason I don't feel comfortable recommending OG to you is because the PC won't fully break down the compound. If you use the SIP/Purple wool, that's as aggressive as I would do with a PC. I would say if you think you'll need PG, buy the 16oz size so you have it. If you don't use it, just send it back to us.

Sealant - There's really no need for AIO. Go straight from 106 to a wax or sealant. einszett Glanz or Rejex would be a great sealant that you can layer 2-3 times.

Here's a link to some polish kits and pads:

Hope this helps and feel free to call us if you need further help or have questions.

So would the power gloss just not work to its full power? How would it be different than using SIP?

I found a 5 inch backing pad, and a 5.5 inch yellow cutting pad in my garage.

I have plenty of 106FF.

I was going to use Klasse AIO because I have it, and normally have used it with Klasse Sealant Glaze.

I just don't think the PC has enough torque to fully see the benefits of the PG...the FLEX polisher would.

Cool...the yellow pads will give an extra boost of the orange one doesn't work.

After 106, go straight to the Klasse sealant since you already have it. AIO is really designed to follow a simple claying when you don't feel like polishing and waxing in two steps.

Note-not recommended for random orbital machines (Porter Cable 7424, etc) as a wool pads nap / fibres work more efficiently with a circular motion
