Metropolitan Detail 1970 Mustang paint restoration

This 1970 Ford Mustang came to us in pretty sad shape. The single stage paint has taken some chemical abuse, and lack of maintenance. Initially, it didn't look so bad, and figured a 3 stage machine polish starting with a wool cutting pad should take care of it, but after polishing we quickly found out this car needed to be wetsanded. I wetsanded all the top surfaces with 2000 grit sandpaper, and buffed out with a wool polishing pad with Menzerna Power Gloss. I then went to Menzerna SIP with an orange CCS pad, and finished with Menzerna Super Finish with a white CCS pad. Topped it off with Auto Glym High Definition wax, and now that once dull and dead red paint has a nice pop.
