How to strip paint off of rims?

I have a set of 996 turbo twist rims that were painted black. I prefer the stock polished look. What is the simplest way to strip the paint? I would like to attempt it myself.

If you are like me, take them to your nearest Porsche dealer and ask for a wheel balance. Seems Brake-Kleen does a bang up job taking off the paint....

It all depends on how it was painted. That's not the big issue though. The problem is, when your wheels were painted, the wheel surface had to be sanded for the new paint to adhere. So, if you're able to remove the black paint, you'll have a sanded and dull looking wheel to contend with. This is a job better left to the professional wheel repair facility. They'll have to strip the paint to bare metal, repaint, and reshoot the clear. Plan on spending at least $250-350 per wheel if done right. The tires will have to be dismounted and re-mounted and balanced as well.
