Porter Cable Intro Polish/Wax Kit Special
#16
Well, I finally had two days with no other plans, so I got up the nerve to use the PC 7424/1z Intro Special I bought from Moe recently. This was the first time I've ever used an electric polisher on one of my cars. After a 2 bucket wash and claying, I used the 1z Paint Polish followed by the 1z Glanz wax. I ran the PC on the 4-4.5 speed, and the whole thing took about 6 hours.
I honestly can't say that the car looks incredibly better (like some of the cars after Moe details them). But I think that's due to the lighter color of the car, as well as the condition of the paint before I started. Irregardless, I feel better knowing that I did something good for my Garage Queen. After all, everyone knows a clean car drives better! I took some before photos, but ran out of light for the after photos, so will try to post some photos when I can.
Moe, if I wanted to get rid of some deeper scratches next time, what would you recommend? Also, I ordered some wheel cleaning supplies last night. Looking forward to getting those.

If you wanted to get deeper scratches and swirls out, we'd change the pads to orange and/or yellow and use Menzerna Super Intensive or Super Finish polish. The beauty of this kit is it can be scaled up or down and the products aren't obsolete.

Two different ball games. The 1Z Paint Polish is pretty mild and good to use by hand. It's for the times your paint needs a good polishing but no paint correction. It's not abrasive enough to remove/eliminate swirls and scratches when used with a DA polisher.
Menzerna polishes are professional-grade and contain no silicones or glazes. They're not intended to be used by hand. They correct the imperfections and get rid of swirls and scratches. There are a few polishes to choose from ranging from mild to medium/aggressive.
Hope this helps.
