I just got back from the body shop. They said that they would paint the rear quarter panel from the back all to halfway over the wheels. Then they would blend the rest. They didn't want to paint the whole thing because I have the stone guards on there. If they did a really good job, would I still be able to tell the difference between that and them completely repainting the quarter panel?

OK. I emailed our body shop and showed them this thread. So if you were here in SoCal and brought your car to us, this is what we'd recommend:

* The “spot blend” will come back whether it’s 2 months or a year from now. The problem with spot painting a quarter is - the sun's UV rays will hit that area constantly and break down the blend line. You will see the repair and where they stopped the clear coat. I wouldn’t recommend blending, I would write to clear the entire panel.

We would only apply color to the scratch and we would clear coat the entire quarter, roof rail, and rocker (basically where the panel stops). About $1000.

On a different note, thank you for your business lucky. I think with all the products you got to polish, wax, and maintain your new-to-you Porsche, that will be one of the nicest Black Carreras in Las Vegas. Can't wait to see the after pictures of when you're done. Keep us posted.
