GP Automotive Renewal Service - Porsche Carrera Cabriolet
Here's another fun project we finished up. This was a 993 purchased from Crevier Classic Car Collection. Some of the nicest cars in the US are stored on display there. Client purchased this 993 and wanted us to take her back to the day she was first built; or as close as possible. Grab some pop corn...enjoy!!
Seats are removed to gain full access to carpets and floors
You find things you could never access...nickle lodged between seat
Scuff removed using All-Natural Leather Cleaner
Hinges and seat rails cleaned of old grease and dirt
Everything cleaned and back in order
Bolts properly torqued back in place
Spare polished and waxed and tire conditioned
We always catalog everything to make sure no parts are lost or damaged
Lights are all tested prior to final assembly

At some point in this 993's life, someone cut the stone guard edge
Swirls and buffer marks from improper technique were quite apparent
The top was no longer protected.
We begin a multi-step reconditioning of the cabrio top by first cleaning with a mild cleaner and a little elbow grease
Wheels removed to gain full access to inside of barrel
Old cosmoline over spray is pretty common on 993s
Wheels cleaned and polished without use of acids or harsh chemical. Only citrus cleaner and a unique polishing soap were used. Wheels were then polished and sealed
Old stone guard removed. This process alone took about six man hours to complete
Client wanted OEM stone guard from Porsche. Unfortunately, the OEM version was flawed at the edges. We ended up making a custom piece for both sides
Someone had crazy glued emblem back on at some point
After light sanding and polishing, this area was ready for new emblem
Final step to reconditioning top. 303 Fabric Guard is applied and allowed to cure
When done properly, top should bead water, resist soiling, and protect against UV rays and discoloration

Thank you for taking the time to view this. We feel that these modern classics are nearing a point in their life where service like this is part of the ownership experience and further enhances the appreciation for the owner and the vehicle. As you can hopefully see, the scope of work requires tremendous amount of experience and knowledge of these vehicles, but more importantly, an overwhelming degree of passion. We hope you share this with other fellow enthusiasts and keep the passion moving.

Thanks Andre. It's a sickness really. I'm never happy and always in search of what's around the corner. It's just great we have opportunities to keep pushing the envelope.
Thanks for checking it out Sir.

Thanks Alex. As long as I still have the passion for what I do, I'll still keep pushing the envelope. That's what makes things fun and exciting. Appreciate you taking the time to browse the thread.
