Household silicon caulk removal from car paint
The story goes: my son was driving down the highway and there was apparently several tubes of silicon caulk on the road. Car in front of him hit one and spewed caulk on the hood and windshield of his car. No, he didn't think to wipe it all off and it is now dried. Stuff came off the windshield with a razor blade very easily. Anyone here have some experience with removing dried caulk from paint without destroying the paint?
Thanks

Standard RTV silicone (caulking) sealant can sometimes be removed by rubbing with your fingers or try a heat gun and a plastic ‘razor blade’. Dependent upon how long it’s been on the paint surface and how much heat it’s been subjected too, you might want to try an Eraser Wheel (Wurth P/T # 058591) 3.5-inch x 5/8-inch eraser wheel fits on (a slow speed, 3,500) machine

So...you know him, huh? The future of our world - help!
So, his car is black and the next day it was about 90 degrees. The hood and grill were about 1,000 degrees and it basically melted it enough to remove with a piece of useless plastic (his driver's license). Little bit of finger-rubbing after that and it's 98% gone.
