Hmm. Is this really a must? It's funny that you say this because a friend of mine who details his car on his own first asked me if I have a buffer, claiming that I would have no chance of waxing it with a wax sponge since according to him you have to press down extremely hard and to do so for the whole car is impossible. I looked up these Dual Action Polishers from PC and theyre kinda expensive so Im wondering if theyre necessary at all.

I got my DA polisher from lowes for about $100. The pads etc mabe another 50 or so. A good investment.

The DA is necessary of you want to remove microswirls or hide swirls and scratches. If your finish is in good shape, you can achieve good results by hand. Post a picture and I can better diagnose what should be done.

Aright I'll take a picture tommorow, but I'm not sure if I can actually do this anymore. Ironically, as soon as I posted this thread, weather up here in upstate NY said bye-bye to global warming. It's been ****ty ever since. Hopefully if it gets better, I can actually do something, but otherwise I see very little point in doing it. Either way, I'll post the picture tommorow.
