Carbotech Performance Brakes™ began 15 years ago. In the beginning we thought like everybody else and made brake compounds out of carbon & iron. The problem with carbon & iron is that when it heats up it forms carbide. Carbide is used in cutting tools, so imagine what that does to your rotors. Along with the fact that those compounds tear up rotors, they also produce very corrosive brake dust. Our race compounds start with the letters "XP™" then they are followed by a number. The first number is 8 (XP8™, then XP10, XP12, and XP16), and as you go up in numbers the initial bite gets much stronger, higher fade resistance, higher torque, and an increase in the temperature range. On that same note, as you go up in our compound numbers you will get slightly faster wear rate on the pads and a little more aggressive on the rotors. That being said, even our more rotor aggressive compounds are still much more rotor friendly then our competitions compounds.

still waiting and praying for a cheaper alternative to OEM CCM discs and pads

 

We do not sell replace rotors for any Ferrari's. We do however have alternative brake pads that will our perform your OEM pads. They will produce less brake dust as well. We have some Enzo customers that buy our brake pads for their street and track use.

 

Can your street pads (Bobcat) be used with stock rotors or do you need to replace rotors ? (car is stock with 1600 miles)

Our 1521 (Bobcat) compound will work great with OEM rotors. Our 1521 compound will be a lot more rotor friendly as well.

So do I need to do anything when replacing the OEM pads with Bobcat's ? Clean rotors or just install and go ?
