Serious Ferraris in upcoming Arizona auctions

The upcoming auctions in Arizona should be very interesting.

Gooding has two very serious Ferraris in their line-up, a virtual barn find 250 GT SWB California Spyder and a 250 GT SWB Alloy Competition coupe that raced at Le Mans. These should both bring home more than $5,000,000 in a bull market, but that numbers are doubtful this year.

Here are the Ferraris at Gooding's Scottsdale auction:

Most of the auction houses work under a reserve system, if the seller chooses, but Barrett-Jackson is completely no reserve. I would not want to have a car with them this year. In year's past, sure thing, but not this year in this market. Should be fun to watch.

They should be on the list of top sellers.

I can see the competition coupe going for alot of money.

It says the California is a no reserve car, that should be interesting.

That Daimler Double Six is beautiful... The California looks pretty good for a "barn find".

Just followed SCD's "Classified Ads from the Past" link within the California Spyder write-up. Apparently you could buy this very same car for $16,750 in 1976! Adjusted for inflation, that is roughly $65,000 in today's dollars!!

And considering this car has been out of the public for 30 years, I would guess that the seller paid $16,750 (or lower) for this Ferrari. Incredible.
