black/black with a few mods here and there.
Im worried about potential problem that may lay ahead bc of high mileage ferrari. are these cars reliable at that many miles? im looking to put on 10,000 a year and plan to keep the car for at least 3-4 years. By the time I sell it, it will have 50k miles, will I be able to sell the car? how much would it be worth 4 years down the road?
hows the price, its the cheapest spyder I could find.
thanks

Who really knows what a good price is in todays depressed market? Transactions happen a lot lower than ask. Imo the prices will keep coming down since they made quite a few of the 430 spiders. On the other hand, one could keep waiting and waiting and never pull the trigger.
If the car is well sorted with all services up to date I think the car might be worth considering. Try to take $5K maybe even $10K off the tag.
Consider $1/ mile for maintenance and service costs. This is a very conservative number that will be alot less if you drive 10K miles/ year. For my CS I've paid a lot more than $1/ mile, but that's because I don't drive a lot.
I wouldn't be surprised if the car after 3-4 years and 50K miles, will have depreciated ~50%. If you on top of depreciation, figure in finance, insurance (for a daily driver which always is more than for a collector car with limited miles) and maintenance cost, it'll be an expensive acquisition. There's nothing cheap about driving an f car. That's one of the reasons most f car owners keep them as week end toys.
Most importantly, get a ppi done from a reliable shop that is experienced with ferraris. You want to confirm that everything is in order (i.e no prior accidents or stories) and that the car doesn't need an expensive service. Especially F1 tranny, clutch and brakes need to be checked. Belt service isn't an issue since the 430 has a chain.

P.S It's always good to know a good independent mechanic since they will save you a lot of money in service costs. Besides, dealer shops while being expensive, aren't always the best. Far from it actually.
P.P.S A cheap price tag might prove to be very costly if you don't do your homework. If you are new to the ferrari game, ask the advice of a friend that is experienced. If you don't have one, ask around on 6 speed and f chat.

I found another one black/black for 155k with 5000 miles. However he gives no discount. Price as marked.

Too late for this particular spider. There's however 137 other spiders listed on Dupont. There's probably quite a few additional ones listed on cars.com and e bay.
The lowest price for a spider I saw was around $140K ask for a red e.g with a mere >5K miles. There was a black one listed in Pasadena with 21 K miles which I assume is the one you were looking at.
There is a glut of 430s for sale which aren't moving anytime soon. The only thing moving is the price and it's in the downward direction. The economy still stinks and I assume there still are quite a few leveraged owners out there that are trying to unload their luxuries.
If the 360 spider generation, which currently has a floor of ~$100K ask, is any indication of future 430 spider prices, I can safely assume that you soon will find another spider that will suit you both in terms of specs and price
Don't be discouraged over missing the opportunity on this car. Half of the fun is the acquisition process. Also keep in mind even though some might not be willing to negotiate, others will. Ask is seldom point of transaction.
Good luck with your search and try to enjoy the process.
