Agree 100% with these 2 car nuts. The longer you wait the older you get.

As with any high price vehicle, mantainance is a factor. With that said may I suggest in shopping in your area for a reputable shop(ferrari shop) who would probably give you great insight to the cost of wear and tear of the vehicle you seek to purchase. The interenet and forums have great info too but every area has it's own shop pricing. Good luck on your purchase and happy motoring...

Vegaceo:

I know of the car you are going to see at Cat's if it is as described you should be pleased.

It became available after I purchased mine.

Good luck!

BTW: What part of Jersey are you in? I spent my early days in Montclair while working in the city.

I live in Morristown, NJ. are you still in the near by area?

The CS you have...have you experienced any shock issues?

I intend to drive the hell out of the CS literally almost on a daily basis. The car will not be tracked more than 10 times a year

so no show pony here. I really want to turn the wheels white and blip that F1 transmission...lol

I have heard many pricing differences (within 20K of the avg offer price) with these cars. I will let those interested know what I pay for the car.

I would love to just get the car but I have never bought used...especially exotic used. so im airing on the side of caution and those who have had the real life nightmares. Ill be damned if i buy this beast and almost immediately put 10K into for some reason not my own.

kuzi, you got any leads on Red CS's?

Speednme...great advice...call the ferrari shop nearby now.

though i may have to wait...im on the full side of the hour glass... lol

vegaceo,
lots of good advice from owners. $10k per year is overkill for sure, especially assuming you get a recent belt service with the purchase.
One issue that you mentioned is a bit scary though, using a CS as an almost daily car in most urban areas, esp. east coast of SF for that matter, will be a chore and will result in taking a big hit when it comes time to sell. Cities will beat these cars up, potholes can be very very expensive and driving in traffic, they are sometimes impossible to miss. If you damage a wheel, its expensive, if you break a wheel and damage the rotor, hold on to your wallet. You have to replace all 4 as per factory. Not sure if there is a way around that but something to consider regarding your planned use.
The car is not very much fun in traffic, will tolerate it, but its really an open road kinda gal.
Good luck, wonderful cars and yhou will find many owners who keep coming back.

I certanily have considered the issues that could come with driving this car daily...Mileage wise, i dont mind taking the hit for putting miles on the car. Im very much a drive and enjoy person. I never expect much when selling my car. Maintience with almost daily driving scares me, but not totally. For starters I work 9 miles from home and am able to take the train to work. I have a little corola for winter when necessary and in the next 3 years I am making my way to So cal, CA.

All and all I will manage for now, but bottom line I want this car (though I need to drive it first.)
