2004 CS360 (thinking of buying)

Hey guys,

I am looking to get my first ferrari. I was looking at a used 2004 360 CS. I have two available to me. Being my first F-car i would like to ask a few question and give you a quick background on me.

1. I love pure speed in my cars. I choose the CS 360 b/c like with any car i have owned or will own, i want the more elite model of the car.

2. Will this be a hard car to own? as in many upkeep costs? it has been said in this forum getting an F-car is just the begging, keeping it is another. What exactly is meant by this.

3. is $150,000 a fair price to offer the seller?

Thanks for your replies guys

The price really comes down to the color combination of the car and the MILES! Also take into account that 360s costs a little more to maintain compare to the 430s.

1. The Stradale is not the fastest car available in its price range, however the way it was set up (no insulation, low ride height, stiff suspension, ...) by the factory it gives a sensation of being much faster than it is.

2. It has been the least costly to maintain of all my past Ferrari(s) and the most reliable.

3. In the Ferrari world you generally get what you pay for so definitely get a PPI. My F355 was fanactically maintained by its previous owners at Ferrari dealerships (granted maybe not the best resource) with all services up to date and no known issues, however in my first 18 months I racked up $10K in unexpected issues along with the $8K I was anticipating.

Bottom line: Great car that offers the Ferrari experience and appears to be holding its value much better than most it counterparts.

4retr,

Thanks a lot for the info.

The cars I am looking at is Rossa with the stripe ( Blk and Red interior) I am also looking at a yellow car with blk & red interior. millage for both is below 8,000 miles.

A few more questions,

Im spoiled from having beamers so i really do not know the value of service costs. Is it safe to say I will need 10K set aside annually for upkeep?

Which is the fastest in the line of 360 cars? The CS looks so damn good I immediatly intend to turn the wheels white

Last question specifically to 4retr, are you selling your CS?

i don't think the comment was meant to say there is a faster 360 than the CS, it was more to mean that all 360s are slow in comparision to other things in the price range.

To me however, I enjoy the sensation of speed in the 360. I have real race cars if I want to make suer I am faster than everyone else...

PCH,

I can not reply to PM's until I get 10 more posts (this makes no sense)...lol

but please read

I really like the Stradale, I just do not know what to be looking for. if you do not mind can you take a look at the Stradale I am looking at on Catsextoics and give me an honest opinion on price and condition.

I spoke with Kevin from there today and he was excellent with giving info. Since its my first ferrari I am am being very wary of not being taken advantage of; especially in a market that has people attempting to off load any and every luxury car.

the one of three at Cats with the stripe is a guy from Portland. He won't take 150k for it.

Whichever car you buy get a solid PPI

10k is a high number to figure per year on a 360. figure every 3 years 6k and figure 2-3k a year if you have issues. 1k a year for typical fluid changes. that's it

Buy a CS and have fun.. There are over 40 on the market right now. Most of the owners won't take lowball offers. when they need to sell they will

Vegaceo:

My Stradale is not for sale - However I looked for the right CS from early 2007 to late 2009. Some of the CS(s) I checked on are still available and may be be able to provide details, be prepared finding the right CS won't happen overnight unless money is no object. So many ended up having some sort of story.

BTW: My criteria was one owner, no stories, full service history, services up to date, factory stripe/extinguisher/radio, with all keys and books. and giallo modena (yellow) prefered.

If you check on the 360/430 section at Ferrarichat.com you'll find all sorts of information on the CS, including what to and what not to look for.

The CS is a phenomenol Ferrari. Possibly the only modern day Ferrari that comes close to the feel of Enzo era cars........specifically the F40.

Also don't wait to long to make a decision - I missed out on 3 Stradales by overanalyzing the situation (Including Kuzi's latest Stradale).

Thanks guys for all the help, this is truly a site of true enthusiast

I too fall under the over analyzing of such a purchase. I am going to give myself 1 month to get the car.

I plan on flying out to portland to see the 360 with the stripe on catsexotics

Hopefully no damn stories come up.lol
