I have a red f430 with brembos and hre wheels. Sat in a 360 and just the engine sounded terrrible. I am sure that could change with an exhaust but I do not think it will ever match the f430. I have put my f430 on the track and it performed very well. I also have a highly tuned 997 turbo with brakes and wheels and suspension. I put the RS stabilizer bars on and some other RS stuff just to get my 997 turbo to feel like the f430 on the track. With the belt issue on the 360 I would never consider it.

We have a regular group gathering in the bay area, frequent shows are 2-3 scuds, 1-2 430s, a few 360s, 355, 348, 308, pretty much across the board for the V8s. Occasionally we have some V12s. I would have to say without the tubi's, 360 is missing something. I have not heard the exhaust on the CS yet. I like the sound of my tubi more than the 430s stock but that is personal preference. 430s with stock exhaust i think is OK.... on the other hand, the scud sounds are the most amazing I've heard. I am not a big fan of loud exhausts, but on acceleration, the scuds just sounded like symphony to the ears. Driving behind a couple of scuds in mountain roads for about 1-2 hours and listening to the music coming from the exhaust was most enjoyable. With regards to the belt, I think 3-4k every 3 yrs is not too big of a deal. Standard 430 is definitely a better car than the regular 360, but CS I believe is a different animal.

The bottom line is, i think these are all fabulous cars and a dream come true to many. We are all very lucky that we get to own them.

The stock brakes on a 430 are brembos, did you upgrade?

As far as I know, all 360s and 430s come with Brembo steel brakes standard. 08 430 comes with ceramic standard. Not sure about generations prior to 360.

I upgraded to the Brembo Gt system which has 15 inch front and rear two piece rotors and 6 piston caliper front and rear. One of the few kits that Brembo offers that has the 6 piston in the rear. Brakes are easily as good as the carbon fiber but much cheaper if the rotors crack. As to the sound of the car I cannot imagine it being any louder and better sounding. After you get the car above 4,000 rpms it starts to sing and it is about as loud as you want. The 360 does not even hold a candle to the 430 sound.

Have you heard a 360 with tubi? Its much better sounding than a stock 430. I have driven them back to back...360 with tubi has a very high pitched sound like a ducati or something. Now a 430 with a capristo exhaust is a different story.

+1, 360s don't sound right without the tubi.

I have not heard a 360 with a tubi but the stock 430 over the 4,000 rpm mark is pretty amazing and any louder would be self defeating. Lets face it the 430 is twice the car the 360 is period.

430s are great cars no doubt, but I think the comment was more on the sound of the exhaust, which probably isn't too correlated with how good a car is. How much you like the sound is also personal preference. Tubi imo has a different tone than the 430 stock exhaust, not the intrusive type of sound, but as vbmw stated is higher pitched, similar to the Ducati. Personally I prefer that sound over the stock 430. Now a scud exhaust is a different story, my favorite so far. It is also not intrusive at all, and at idle, very low key. But when it accelerates, it really is music to the ears. You will need to hear that in person if you have not. I've also heard the F50s a few times, it is a race car for the street, but a little too loud for me.

If I considered changing out my stock F430 exhaust which brand is the best. I do not want an exhaust that is just louder but more along the lines of a better sound but not deafining. What are the costs of the exhausts and do they add any horsepower?
