it's the only Ferrari that i even look at since they started using 2 taillights instead of 4

i only saw a red one in person (at night), and when i went ahead of him, i DID think the 'tall lights' were unattractive when on, but design-wise i think it looked great.
so personally i'm just glad that, since 1994, i now have a V8 Ferrari i dream about..

ps: somebody should photoshop the 458 with 4 taillights

I've seen the car in person - Didn't like it from the pics and still don't like it. The car has incredible performance, no doubt but so does an F1 car and they're ugly as hell, too!

I'll take the 430 (today) and I'd still take it years from now. If this is the "evolution" of Ferrari I'm terrified what things will look like when my youngest son is ready to purchase his (in 2040).

well it just goes to show you about a topic like this and how we've come full circle ------- i agree with everything you said GAM (the 458 is hideous) but i would have to disagree about the styling of an F1 car. i love those things. it's pure function over form. the 458 is the opposite in that it's trying hard to look "modern" with all the gadgetry and extra angles in the dash and body work and those bazillion useless led's in the headlight assembly.

I like the 430 interior better. It seemed more "special"

I just noticed this! Below is the dash to the 2011 Honda CR-Z that I get to drive on Tuesday - look how similar they are in and around the steering wheel! (no TFT on the CR-Z though)

Did Honda copy Ferrari? Did Ferrari copy Honda? Or did they both come to the same usability solution from different parts of the world?

The interior is wild, in a great way - love the deletion of the stalks and the incorporation of all their functions to the steering wheel - the exterior is stunning - to think the shape of the car is made of aluminum (i believe) is truly amazing

the only small downside for me is the front - i think it's the weakest styling point of the car - but as stated, only a small downside, i still like it

i'm sure to those who aren't sold yet - after sometime you will be - happens all the time, with just about every car maker - the new designs take some time to get used to...

I'm still not 100% sure, yet, whereas in the past, with the 360, 430, 599 etc, I fell in love straight away. So it seems kind of strange to now question a Ferrari's appearance. I'm sure it's fast as hell, though!

I understand what your saying. I think its one of the most unattractive Ferraris to date. But when the F430 came out I didn't like it either. Now I think the f430 is the most attractive Ferrari to date lol.

I don't like the styling either. But I have not seen one in person yet.
But since I have no desire to own a new Ferrari, they really don't care what I think!

I didn't like the 458's headlights the moment I saw it and still can't stand them. I like the rest of the exterior though and can't get over the NA output setting a new precedent.

The California seems appropriately named. Odd in more ways than one just like the state......

Not a big fan of the interior or the headlights. I dislike the 3 tail pipes as well. Not being able to see the speedometer when using the Navi is a joke. I prefer the F430.

Finally saw one in person, stunning in some ways but WTF in other ways...its styling was kind of previewed by the Millechilli concept so the Enzoesque styling should be no surprise. Also I realized that its going to take a reduction in my waste line and matching growth in my bank account to be able to make one work. So for now I will have comfort in knowing that I like the 430 more.
