Automobile Magazine Tests the F458 Italia

And got stellar results:

ACCELERATION
0-60mph 3.0sec
0-100mph 6.4
0-120mph 8.9
0-140mph 12.2
0-160mph 17.0
0-180mph 23.3
1/4-mile 10.9sec @ 134 mph

Considerably faster than the Scuderia and especially significant because these results were obtained on street tires, not the sticky tires found on Scuds and Superleggeras. Imagine what the eventual 458 Scud will do!

McLaren has their work cut out for them if they are going to beat those numbers with the 12C. those numbers are going to be hard to beat for a RWD exotic. let the games begin

Perhaps its weight, gearing, and shift times (transmission) all help achieve that time/speed.

Ya know... Somebody in Monza is going to read this thread, and say."WTF??? The car is an engineering Marvel - our best yet, stops on a dime, corners on rails, can run with any car on track, is technically proficient, cooks meals without charcoal, and all they care about is 1/4 mile times???"

lol! Just kidding. 134 is good.

That car is not producing 570 flywheel horsepower and trapping 134 mph at 3400 lbs. This car in everywhere but the 1/4 mile time slaps around the ZR1...WOW...I did not expect this from the entry level Ferrari. Hell I would take this over the new GT2 RS!

ZR1 has ran 10.7 @ 133
997.2 TT gas ran 11.0 @ 130
LP670 ran 10.9 @ 131

And this car is equal or faster than those monsters, I anxiously await the comparo of the 911 GT2 RS vs these cars.

Well if the numbers are correct, since it has the same DSG 7 speed and launch control...it should be as fast since it has more power ( allegedly) and weighs 300 lbs less.

I promise it wont be faster. It will be 3.3-3.5 to sixty. MARK MY WORDS. The car will not be under 3.0. Can someone sow me a link to the ZR! running 10.7 I never saw one that fast.

EVO Magazine "only" achieved 3.2 secs in 0-60 and 11.2 in the quarter @ 128.8 MPH, so there's the window this car performs within, it seems: As little as 10.9 @ 134 in the quarter to as much as 11.2 @ 129, pretty nice territory. Can't wait to get mine! Supposedly next summer...

That 134 trap speed seems very high.Autocar only got 128.6mph.In a side by side race with porsche turbo S,the turbo S went 129.3 at quarter mile.At the kilometer, turbo S wa 163.2 in 20.05 secs and 458 was 163.9 in 20.33 secs.Could the 134 trap speed be wrong,in some way?Either measurement error or non-standard car?A variation of quarter mile trap speeds of almost 6 mph is way too much to be accounted for by driver differences or weather differences. That's a 50bhp difference or more...What is the explanation for these different figures-it is puzzling, isn't it!
