The Gallardo is in a different league than the Z06. The Gallardo is still a dream car for most and the Z06 is a great track beater. Both fun in their own ways.

Congrats on picking up the Z06 it is a great car and very cheap to maintain compared to the G. I've had mine for a year now and enjoy everytime I get to drive it. You have a very nice collection enjoy!

Props for tracking your F430 and driving it the way it's meant to be driven.

Great choice for the purposes of tracking and beating on. The Z06's also look amazing with very little mods, wheels, adjust the lowering bolts to sit a little over an inch lower, and black out the orange lights.

What are your plans mods wise for the Z, intake, headers, and a tune net about 25RWHP.

Thanks everyone, been driving the Z06 around for the past week and enjoying the car so far. Very different from the F430 and the Porsche. I would say the Vantage and the Z06 drives more similar

The claimed spec on a stock Z06 to 60 is faster than the F430 but the F430 just feels faster. I think maybe because it revs quicker and I did get my F430 to put out 520 HP with the mods that were done this year.

Plans for the Z06 are:

  • Intake Air system to breath better
  • Exhaust Headers and X-pipe with high flow cats
  • ECU optimization tune
  • Lightweight flywheel to help it rev more freely (still thinking about this one)
  • Coil overs with ride height adjustment but waiting to track this car a couple of times before deciding
  • Front and rear sway bars if installing coil overs
  • Set of Hoosier R6 DOT tires
  • More aggressive track alignment for quicker turn in

L...,
If you need a driver for any of your track cars, let me know! BTW, my friend has a Z06 and he is a very experience driver, national champ for auto-x.... He said the Z06 has lots of power, but this car needs good suspension mod! So, on your list to do, if you want to pick one, that will be the suspension.

More like 40-50rwhp.
Also look into upgrading the oiling system, the z can exhibit oil starvation
when pulling high g's with slicks.

Last time at a NJMP track day there was modified Z06 and Scuderia running in the advanced class. The Z06 was 'lapping' the Scuderia.. With the right mods the Z06 is an absolute track beast.

On the whole, do you guys feel the z06 to be a better track car than the ZR1?
