911 to Ferrari

Has anyone moved from 911 to Ferrari and glad of the transition?

just curious of the experiences of people who have owned / do own both...

Thank you!

I have been a Porsche guy forever going through 9 of them. I traded in my 2005 turbo S cab for a 2008 Ferrari 430S there is no comparison between the cars. Now I know what I have been missing all these years. I just put down my deposit for a 458 Spider. The problem is I have to wait a year. Just drive a 430 and you will be sold. Not to mention the incredible sound.

Arnie1, thank you

What about 991SCab vs 430 or California ?

Out of curiosity - how much is the 458spider and how much is the deposit? 1 year wait everywhere?

Crazy for how much these cars sell on DuPont

I've gone to Ferrari three times and I always end up back in a 911...

They are amazing cars but I like to drive my cars daily. When I do that I just prefer the 911.

AS for the 991S not a fan very fast handles well but has too many electronic nannies to take the fun out. I have a 89 turbo cab and that is a more visceral car and that is why I kept that and got rid of my 2005 turbo S. I just felt more connected to the 89 turbo. AS for the California that is more of a GT car like an Aston Martin. I want a true sports car.

As for the wait the only reason I have a year wait is that I bought a Ferrari from my dealer last year. As a retuning customer they take care of you. All dealers are the same. I went to another dealer and even though I was a Ferrari owner since I did buy the car from them they told me it was a 2 year wait. So I went back to my dealer and put down a 10,000 deposit. When I finalize the order I need to put down another 10,000.

If you want the car sooner go buy a California or 430 and order the 458 at that time and it should be a year wait.

Do you miss the convertable top? In other words I find driving with the top down adds to the sportiness of the car...OR is it that much of a different car?

So if you could have the Ferrari as a weekend ride and the 911 as the dd, would that be the best of both worlds?

moved from a 997 to a 360 and agree, totally different cars. Love it and won't go back. if you want a DD, i'd stay with a p-car, nothing wrong there either

moved from 996 4s to 360 modena. Its like comparing jerking off with real sex.
i mean you enter the 911, you drive it, you get excited and then you get home relaxed
360 is an addiction. You drive it, you get home and after 15 minutes you wanna ride it again, like the sexiest woman on earth!!
911 is a fine car though...

DD a 997.1 C2S 6sp for 4 years, ruptured my left Achilles training muay thai, moved to a 2010 Nero Daytona California and never looked back. 911s are a dime a dozen around here, there's almost 10 in my physicians office building garage alone all the way from 993 to 918 Turbo S. The exhaust note of the Fcar alone is worth the price of admission, the interior looks like it was handcrafted by Louis Vuitton, and the Cali is superior to my C2S as a DD with a sublime and responsive DCT and more civilized ride even in Sports mode. The car is 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, how much more speed does one need? I've driven the 458 Spider and that is the pinnacle but for my budget and needs as a DD, the Cali works great.

I live in year round tropical weather so the security and practicality of the motorized hardtop is superb. Just be prepared for a lot more attention, you will come out from the grocery store or be filling up gas and have a new set of buddies every time.

That is a more fair comparison. Ferrari is a different feelling though that no Porsche can match, even the Turbo ones.
