Wow. My friend was a participant in the Fast Pass and he was saying that Richard wasn't hurt that bad and would be at the closing party. I guess he was misinformed.

I think what your friend meant was that it was a bad accident, but considering the circumstances, he sustained pretty minor injuries...

Happy to hear that he survived this wreck. Ferrari could replace Volvo in the world's safest cars category if this keeps up!

I love to hear that. I say drive the **** out of it. That's what it's for. There are always those people that can afford the car, but can't afford to drive it. I'm glad he bought it to drive, and I'm glad he's ok so he can purchase another one.

Modern safety engineering is amazing. Glad to hear he survived with relatively minor injuries.

At least he was using the car as intended.

seems the power level we are at now for these supercars is too much for a significant portion of the owners...$ does not buy you driving skill and its no small feat to tame 600+HP

it almost seems mandatory that owners attend a DE with some sort of instruction

The scary thing is that he is a very good driver that has spent countless hours behind the wheels of multiple exotics on and off the track. I think we can chalk this one up to our terrible roads as much as driver fault. Not that driving at those speeds is the smartest thing to do on normal roads, but he is a very experienced driver.

I am not slamming the driver, not in any way. But this has nothing to do with "terrible roads". I've driven this road several times, at a very good clip. It's a great two lane, back country road, and you can carry serious speed. But, at 200mph...you're on own on any road.

put it into perspective - these cars are so high profile that you actually hear about some/most of the accidents that happen. as a percentage of total production (i dont know i dont have the stats) im sure that there are more gt3s/turbos/360s etc. crashes than enzos/cgts.

most owners of these cars know how to drive - the ones that dont usually keep em as garage queens. thus its not the bad drivers that crash them - it's the relatively good ones......maybe.....
