Please be sure to remember Mr Carlos Lopez-Cantera in the next election and vote for ANYBODY BUT HIM...votes actually do make a difference, and I for one would like to see this guy mowing my lawn.

I'll toss in my 2 cents... I actually have a contrasting view on this matter than everyone replied thus far. The root of the problem is that in the U.S. anyone can get license, buy a car/bike and do whatever they want with it. We have no standardized training to teach drivers how to control their cars and how their cars will handle at speed. I'm sure some of us on this forum have been trained in performance driving, but I don't think I'm being optimistic if I say that's less than 1% of the driving population. That's also the reason why I'll always feel 100% safer driving at speed, at a closed track, with other people I know with similar driving skills/training, than any other times on public roads. This is like that argument of "guns don't kill people, people kill people"... when in fact, people and cars do kill... but cars just make it faster and make for an easier getaway.

Speaking of people hogging the left lane...check this out: http://www.komonews.com/news/20656789.html - Poking along in the left lane? Prepare to pay.

^^^ yep! that new law will be interesting about the left lane thing here in WA as well. i think it will be a good thing. it will keep driver's on their toes if they plan on using the left lane. =)

I think oregon has something similar in place about the speeding/arrest thing. i believe there law is for 20 miles over the speed limit.
