We just bought my wife a 2002 S6 Avant and it was about $300 a year less to insure than her 1998 Subaru wagon (through AAA)! I was surprised with that and asked why. They had said something essentially similar to what a couple of you have said; and that it was a far safer car in their minds, and that generally, the more exotic a car, the more likely that drivers are to take care of them, drive more defensively, etc. Sorry, that was a bit of a run-on sentence!

BTW, I can only wish I had to worry about how to insure a Veyron!!!

Cheers,
Chris

i dont know how these insurance companies figure out these rates. my last 3 dailt drivers where c chrysler 300c, a c6 vette and a sl55amg.

the corvette was 200 a year cheaper then the 300c, the sl55 is 250 more than the vette, so 50 more than the 300 was

I've attached a copy of a quote for the Bugatti I did real quick. There is no personal information on this link it is just something I plugged in to get the numbers fyi.

I believe one of my cars is insured through American Modern. Does Hagerty broker insurance through you?

It was probably for liability only, then that does make sense. There is NO WAY it would be comprehensive/full coverage for that much.

it was full coverage....in comparison, my lotus through her they want $1,920 every 6 vs the $550 every 6 I pay though current provider...but the 996TT though my current provider they want $2,373 every 6...though my wife, $800....insurance is witchcraft I tell you

i'll see if i can't snag a screen shot and post it

My ZR1 costs me $2,000.00 per year. I'm 48 w/ a clean license. My friend has 4 (yes 4) Veyrons, 2 are the gold targa models( Grand Sport I believe). He is self insured. It's a legal thing that I have not asked any details of.
