Fantastic move picking up your neighbors house. Do you do any of your own wrenching or will this be a adult play house?

My 2 cents (since I'm a hotrod builder in my free time):
-2 bay heavy equipment area
-Paintbooth
-Clean room
-2 lifts
-fabrication area next to heavy equipment area
-dyno room
-bar/lounge (possibly on a loft?)
-internet/office area
-hidden stripper pole

Funny you ask, my wife and I just met again with the architect today. I should have a plan to post in a few weeks. Here is what we plan to add:

-Guest quarters that will be approximately 1,500 sq feet plus single bay garage - all at ground level, likely to be used by my in-laws as they get older.

-Bonus room above the quest quarters will be used for exercise room and future home office.

- 3 additional garage spaces for my use - 1 for indoor wash bay, 2 with 4 post lifts for future cars.

- 60' x 60' indoor basketball/rec court.

We have decided against the bowling lane and indoor batting cages. We are reserving an outdoor area for a batting cage, if one of ours kids has extreme interest in the sport.

The indoor car wash bay will be heated, have floor drains, hot water, and laundry area. I will also equip the bay with a high pressure hose system and car dryers, like you see at self-serve car washes.

The project is set to break ground in March 2009. Fortunately, I have a an extra space to house my Scuderia which arrives next month!

Project sounds amazing! Remember that the building science behind your project will make or break it. Best of luck.
