Extreme Garage Makeover: Tornadoes Edition
Started the project late summer with my dad and brother. Walls and floors were all cement, had large wood storage system. Place got a little dusty and organization could have been better.
We decided to take the plunge and go all out. Ripped the storage units out, painted, prepped, added a sophet to house new lighting, and best of all, new cabinets and epoxy floor
The floor couldn't have come out any better. Coved corners on one side of the garage, epoxy up the walls to the small ledge built in, perfect texture, moisture sealed, granite sealed. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
If anyone has any questions on the process, please let me know. This was long, tired, but hella worth it. Floor is easy to clean, looks killer and is easy to work on.
Cabinets were special ordered and location designed by yours truly. The garage kicks ***. Lighting is great; four units of 2 bulbs each. Front cabinets were put on a custom ledge to utilize the edge of the foundation.
Well, that's all I can really think of. And the garage is a 2.5. And there is still some small touchup painting that needs to be done in the upcoming week.

Enjoy the pics. Not much compared to some of the garages on here, but I love it, none the less
Long time lurker, never posted!

The floor was done professionally by a friend that does it for a living. The floor is textured perfectly. It's not slippery at all when wet and simply mops up when dirty.

Sorry for the old description; I wrote that up a few months ago on the local forum.
I might as well add that the cabinets are great. They are heavy and have tons of storage space.
My main goal when designing it was to have a clean environment to work on the car and to be able to store things in the cabinets. Before we ripped it out, there were wooden shelves on the right side and in front of the left bay...there was a 5 foot wide elevated shelf. It was very dusty with the cement walls and floor and was probably originally built with the house (over 50 years ago).
There is practically no dust now; and using glo-shine and some floor products, the garage floor cleans up in a flash.
I've dropped tools on the floors and there are no chips or wear. The Subaru doesn't move everyday, but the other side sees action daily. No wear marks where the tires sit and no streaking from the rubber.
All in all, the floor rocks and I'm happy I chose this over the race-deck route.
