Gladiator Garage

Hey Jay,

I'm slowly but surely creating a Gladiator garage. Yours looks great! Question.. Did you use the Gladiator screws (They're white). I heard (from a Utube video) NOT to use them. They apparently strip. I've been using them so far, though. Your thoughts?

Thx!

Chris

Because of how much Gear Track I had to install, I opted against the Gladiator screws. My concern was that the white paint would chip off the heads while drilling. I figured it would look cleaner using regular grey screws as opposed to a bunch of chipped white screw heads. I'm sure if you are super careful while drilling, you can get most of the Gladiator screws in without them getting too chewed up. Good luck with your project!

Jay

Sweet! My garage is Gladiator too (see my sig pic). I'm impressed that you did it yourself. Mine was done professionally by Potomac Garage Solutions, and yours looks at least as good.

Fantastic car, by the way.

Hey!

Great looking garage! I am currently on the same mission! I currently have the 8' workbench, 4 of the 30" hanging cabinets, and about 72' of track. On the way is the flooring and the Gear Locker. All yet to be installed.

I was wondering if you remember the paint code you used on the walls. I am having a difficult time choosing the right tone of gray to use and really like how your setup came out!

Thanks!

OH and beautiful car!

It sounds like you are right on track with your Gladiator project! I agonized over color to make sure I nailed the right color grey. The walls were done with Dunn Edwards Suprema, color is "Ice Grey." The ceiling was done with Dunn Edwards Flat, standard bright white. The Ice Grey came out looking perfect, I'm quite happy with it. No blue tint or any other issues to note.

Good luck with the installation, post up some pics when you are done!

Thanks,

Jay

Looks great, I'm still debating between epoxy and something like this that I can do in a day with no worries on the quality of my prep work.

My concrete floor has minor cracks and chips, so tiles was a no brainer!
