My own garage (pole barn)

after running all the wires i was patiently waiting for my dad's electrician friend to come by to hook the garage panel up, i still had the scissor lift, I decided to stain all the wood that would be exposed after i hang sheet rock. I picked a color and after several splinters, rearranging the garage and many long nights, i hand stained all the trusses and it turned out great.

after getting a run around with my dad's friend i contacted a friends friend and he was able to come out and do the final hook up of the panel and outlets. My dad and I hung the lights and was ready for 1 last visit before i finally had full power in the garage.

Finally on July 30, 2016 i had power and light in the garage! I have been working with a string light since Nov of '15 and this was probably the most exciting moment and in the few next month i got a ton completed

Now that i had power and light, i ordered sheet rock and with a help of a tall friend we were able to hang almost all the sheet rock in 1 weekend. After that i spent several nights spackling until it was ready to paint

After getting some insane quotes to seal and paint my floor i decided to do it myself. I did a ton of researched and watched a lot of videos and took people's complaints and figured out what they did wrong. I had a buddy come by and we knocked it out in a hour and a half. I prepped the hell out of the floor and sealed the cracks before we tackled it.
After doing this i would have done it before i did the sheet rock. It took forever to get rid of all the dust from the spackle. Also my cabinets came in 2 weeks early and they were too heavy to move back out. (i wasn't 100% on doing it at the time but if i didn't do it now i wouldn't of ever gotten to it) and i'm glad i did to it. Made the garage even brighter.

So since the first of this year i have done some decorating, installed my air compressor and ran lines. I also ended up acquiring a tire machine and balancer that i wasn't planning for. Ended up not being able to use the balancer since it was 220 3 phase and i ran 3 220 plugs but don't have 3 phase so i sold it and got a cheaper new one.

My last and most recent large purchase was a 2 post lift. I had this lift picked out before i had the garage built. The posts are 8.5' and its sill able to lift the car up 6'. The posts are removable for the intention to not take up full floor space. Since my garage is 24'x40' a standard lift spans 12' and are tall so it would have had to be mounted in the middle turning the 4 car garage to a 3 car. This one allows me to still lift the car all the way and is placed to one side where i can still fit easily 4 cars.

Thanks! I wanted a 30'x40' but the way my septic ran out i couldn't go as wide so i went with a 24'x40'. There will always be plans for a bigger one at my next house years down the road!
